Generators

We supply generators for industry and marine. Our generators come from Mecc Alte which is one of the leading manufacturers in the world of synchronous generators. Mecc Alte offers a wide range from small 2 pole generators to larger 4 pole generators. We stock up to 680 kVA but there are from 1.2 kVA to 2500 kVA.

Mecc Alte 3-phase and 1-phase generators

Simple design combined with proper sizing of components makes this a highly durable and reliable generator. 

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
Stator and bearing shields are made of aluminum. Rotor shaft is in C50 steel. Ventilation by fan on the rotor shaft. Enclosure class IP23 as standard, IP44 available on request. The generators are equipped with disposable lubricated bearings type 6205 2RS front and 6203 2RS rear. The generators are delivered unpainted.

INSULATION
The generators are designed with insulation class H. All windings are impregnated with epoxy resin.

VOLTAGE REGULATION
T generators are regulated by a compound system and are equipped with brushes. The voltage accuracy is ± five percent from no load to full load with a power factor of 0.8-1 and a speed variation of four percent. The voltage can be adjusted by changing the air gap in the transformer. If the rated load is switched on when the generator is running at no load, the transient voltage drop is less than eight percent and the recovery time is less than 0.1 seconds. The regulation ensures that regardless of the speed, the magnetizing current can never reach a level that could be harmful.

OVERLOAD
Permissible overload is 380% for 20 seconds and 10% for one hour every six hours. 

RADIO INTERFERENCE
The generators comply with VDE 0875 class G and MIL I 169-10A. Interference filters according to VDE class K and MIL STD 461-AB and other standards are available on request.

EXTRA EQUIPMENT
The T16 and T20 generators are available in the desired voltages and with a built-in rectifier bridge for 12-volt battery charging. 

 

Mecc Alte S16F Industrial Alternator

The BTP3 series is built according to international standard IEC 34-1. It has high motor starting capacity and good 1-phase performance. Delta-coupled, it can deliver 70 percent of the 3-phase power in 1-phase. The winding is of the step-shortened type. 

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
Stator housing is in steel and bearing shields in aluminum. Rotor shaft is in C50 steel. Rotor is in laminated steel with pronounced poles for best wave shape. The two-pole version also has a damping cage to improve the waveform. Ventilation through aluminum fan on the rotor shaft. Protection class IP23 as standard, IP44 and IP45 available on request. Disposable lubricated ball bearings type 6308 2RS front and 6305 2RS rear. The generators are delivered primed.

INSULATION
The generators are designed with insulation class H. All windings are impregnated with epoxy resin. 

VOLTAGE CONTROL
The BTP3 series is compound controlled and equipped with brushes. The control system is fed by an auxiliary winding placed in the stator in phase with the main winding. The magnetizing current that generates the open-circuit voltage is determined by the number of turns of the transformer primary winding and by the transformer air gap. The secondary winding of the transformer is in series with the main winding and adds the necessary magnetization required to keep the full load voltage almost constant. Voltage accuracy is ± four percent from idle to full load with a four percent speed variation and balanced load. The idle voltage can be adjusted ± 10 % by changing the air gap in the transformer. If the rated load is switched on with the generator running at no load and at rated speed, the transient voltage drop is less than nine percent and the recovery time is less than 0,1 seconds.

Permissible overload is 300% for 20 seconds, 50% for two minutes and 10% for one hour every six hours. 

RADIO INTERFERENCE

ECP3 Mecc Alte BTP3 Industrial Alternator

ECP3 generators are brushless with electronic voltage regulation. They are highly reliable due to careful design and dimensioning of components. This also applies to the electronic voltage regulator, which was designed after many years of research in this field. The ECP3 has a high motor starting capacity. It also has a sustained short-circuit current of over 300% of the rated current. The ECP3 is available in two- and four-pole versions and can be used for 50 and 60 Hz.

VOLTAGE REGULATOR
The ECP3 series is equipped with electronic voltage regulator type DSR. The voltage accuracy is ± 1% independent of power factor and with a speed variation of - 15 percent to + 30 percent of nominal speed. The voltage can be adjusted by changing the setting of the potentiometer on the voltage regulator or on a separate 100 kΩ potentiometer connected to the voltage regulator. The ECP3 can also be equipped with a DER1 type regulator (see description of type ECO / ECP). If the rated load is switched on when the generator is running unloaded and at rated speed, the transient voltage drop is less than 15 percent and the recovery time is less than 0.2 seconds to a maximum deviation of ± 3% on nominal voltage.

Mecc Alte ECP3 Industrial Alternator

ECSO generators are designed to provide the highest performance in several areas: extremely high engine starting capability through a 3-phase compound control system combined with the highly accurate AVIR electronic voltage regulator. This AVIR can easily be retrofitted to an ECSO generator. This dual control system is patented. ECSO's are brushless with rotating fields, pronounced poles, damping cage and step-shortened winding. They can be used 1-phase or 3-phase 50 and 60 Hz. The dual control system provides additional operational reliability. If the electronic voltage regulator fails, the compound system automatically takes over the regulation. The AVIR regulator also protects against underspeed by reducing the voltage in relation to the speed. The ECSO series complies with international standard IEC 34-1.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
Steel stator housing and cast iron bearing shields provide a robust yet lightweight generator. Rotor shaft is in C50 steel. Enclosure rating IP21 as standard, except sizes 28 and 32 which have IP23 as standard. IP44 is available on request. The generators are delivered primed.

VOLTAGE CONTROL
The control circuit is fed by an auxiliary winding placed in the stator approximately in phase with the main winding. The magnetizing current for the open-circuit voltage is determined by the transformer primary winding and by the transformer air gap. The secondary winding of the transformer is in series with the main winding and adds the necessary magnetization required to maintain almost constant output voltage. With the compound system, a voltage accuracy of ± 4 percent is obtained with a power factor between 0.8 and 1 and a speed variation of 4 percent. With the AVIR controller connected, a voltage accuracy of ± 1.5 percent is obtained with a power factor between 0.8-1 and a speed variation of - 10 percent to + 30 percent. With the compound system, the open circuit voltage can be adjusted ± 10 percent by changing the air gap in the transformer. With the AVIR controller connected, the voltage can be adjusted with the trim potentiometer on the controller or with an external potentiometer. If the rated load is switched on when the generator is running unloaded, the transient voltage drop is less than eleven percent and the recovery time is less than 0.15 seconds. With the AVIR regulator engaged, the recovery time is even shorter.

OVERLOAD
The permissible overload is 300% for 20 seconds, 50% for two minutes and 10% for one hour every six hours. It is possible to run two generators of the same type and power in parallel by connecting the magnetizing windings of the generators in parallel. With AVIR connected, a paralleling device is necessary.

ECSO complies with VDE 0875 class G and N. Interference filters according to other standards are available on request.

Mecc Alte ESCO Industrial Alternator

ECO generators are the result of years of research and experience. They guarantee a sustained short-circuit current above or equal to three times the rated current. The winding is of the step-shortened type to minimize harmonics. The ECO series complies with international standard IEC 34-1. 

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
Steel stator housing and cast iron bearing shields provide a robust but lightweight generator. Rotor shaft is in C50 steel. Protection class IP21 as standard, except for size 28 where IP23 is standard. IP44 is available on request. The generators are delivered primed. The junction box on ECO32 is available in a high or low version. 

INSULATION
The generators are designed with insulation class H. Rotating parts are impregnated with epoxy resin. The stator is vacuum impregnated.

VOLTAGE REGULATION

Type ECO is equipped with an electronic voltage regulator. Sizes 28-38 have a DSR regulator as standard. Size 40-46 has as standard regulator DER1. The regulators are interchangeable.

DSR
This controller is an advanced digital electronic controller with single phase sensing. The regulator has underspeed protection with adjustable level, adjustable overload protection with delay, switching for 50 and 60 Hz, potentiometer for adjusting stability and the possibility to connect external potentiometer to adjust the voltage. Using an external communication card, the controller can be connected to a PC. You can then change settings, see the current status and download an alarm list.

DER1
The DER1 controller is a development of the DSR controller. It has the option of both 3-phase and 1-phase sensing and a self-diagnostic LED indicating the current operating state.
The voltage accuracy is ± 1 percent independent of power factor and with a speed variation of - 10 percent to + 30 percent. The voltage can be adjusted ± 5 percent with a potentiometer on the controller. An external potentiometer of 100 kΩ can also be connected to adjust the voltage. If the rated load is connected when the generator is running unloaded and the speed is constant, the transient voltage drop is less than 15 percent and the recovery time to ± 3 percent voltage deviation is less than 0.3 seconds. As standard, the regulators are fed with Mecc Alto's well-known MAUX system. As an option, generators in sizes 38-46 can be fitted with PMG.

OVERLOAD
Permissible overload is 300% for 20 seconds, 50% for two minutes and 10% for one hour every six hours. 

PARALLEL OPERATION
Type ECO can operate in parallel both with ECO generators and other generators and in parallel with the grid if fitted with the appropriate paralleling device which is available on request up to 350 kVA and is standard for powers from 400 kVA. If the generator is to operate in parallel with the grid, an electronic power factor regulator, PFR 96/1 can be connected.

RADIO INTERFERENCE
ECO meets VDE 0875 class K. Interference filters according to other standards are available on request.

Mecc Alte ECO Industrial Alternator

Single-phase brushless alternators are highly reliable and maintenance-free as they have no brushes. They are carefully designed to allow easy assembly with the drive motor. The generators are designed according to international standard IEC 34-1. 

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
The bearing shields are made of aluminum and the rotor shaft of C45 steel. Ventilation by fan on the rotor shaft. Enclosure class IP21, add-on available for IP23. Disposable lubricated ball bearings type 6203 2RS. Shaft adapter for conversion to B34 two-bearing design available. 

INSULATION
The generators are designed with insulation class H. All windings are impregnated with epoxy resin.

VOLTAGE REGULATION
The voltage is regulated by an auxiliary winding which is out of phase with the main winding. The auxiliary winding is loaded with a capacitor. Rectification of the induced voltage in the rotor, which is a function of the load current, provides good self-regulation. The transient voltage drop is less than 10% at full load and the recovery time is less than 0.1 seconds. The self-regulation ensures that the generator is not damaged when operating at too low a speed. 

OVERLOAD
Allowable overload is 10% for one hour every three hours. 

RADIO CONTROL
The generators comply with Directive 89/336 on electromagnetic compatibility. Interference filter according to VDE0875 class K. Other standards are available on request.

EXTRA EQUIPMENT
Ecologizer: The ecologizer is an additive that reduces the speed of the drive engine when no power is being drawn. This naturally reduces fuel consumption and the noise level of the engine.

Extra control panel: This can contain various accessories as desired, such as start key, electrical outlets, overload switch, ecologizer, voltmeter and any relays.

RCM ELECTRONIC VOLTAGE REGULATOR
Mecc Alte has developed a patented electronic voltage regulator for capacitor regulated 1-phase generators. The regulator provides good voltage accuracy independent of speed variations, load and temperature.

Mecc Alte S16W Portable Alternator

The S16F and S20F are 1-phase brushless generators. They have high reliability and are maintenance-free as they have no brushes. They are designed according to international standard IEC 34-1.

RMC VOLTAGE REGULATOR

Mecc Alte has developed a patented electronic voltage regulator for capacitor regulated 1-phase generators. The regulator provides good voltage accuracy independent of speed variations, load and temperature.

Mecc Alte S16F Portable Alternator

VOLTAGE
Standard voltage is 400 V 3-phase and 230 V 1-phase. If you want other voltages, this can be supplied on request. 1-phase capacitor controlled generators have two windings of 115 V and can thus be center-point grounded.
