Motors for potentially explosive atmospheres (EX motors)

Motors for hazardous environments are specifically designed to minimize the risk of sparks and ignition in environments with flammable gases, vapors or dust. Our EX-rated motors ensure reliable and safe operation even under the most demanding conditions.

Busck offers several brands

Orange 1:
Ex eb (zone 1), Ex tb (zone 21), Ex db eb (zone 1)

Busck:
Ex ec (zone 2), Ex tc (zone 22)

Innomotics:
Ex db eb (Zone 1), Ex ec (Zone 2)

ZON 0

Hazardous area in which explosive gas is present continuously or for long periods. Category 1 equipment is used here.

No electric motors may be used here.

ZONE 1 (gas)

A hazardous area in which explosive gas is likely to occur temporarily during normal operation. Category 1 or 2 equipment is used here. In zone 1, Ex db and Ex eb motors may be used.

We offer motors from Innomotics and Orange1 for zone 1.

ZONE 2 (gas)

Hazardous area in which explosive gas is not expected to occur during normal operation and, if it does occur, it is brief and infrequent.

We offer motors from Innomotics, Busck and Orange1 for zone 2.

ZON 20

Hazardous area in which explosive dust is present continuously or for long periods. Category 1 equipment is used here.

No electric motors may be used here.

ZON 21 (dam)

A hazardous area in which explosive dust is expected to occur temporarily during normal operation. Category 1 or 2 equipment is used. Ex tb motors may be used in zone 21.

We offer engines from Orange1 for zone 21.

ZON 22 (dam)

Hazardous area in which explosive dust is not expected to occur during normal operation and, if it does occur, it is brief and infrequent.

We offer engines from Busck and Orange1 for zone 22.
